About Prosser-Truth

Prosser-Truth Division #456 was chartered in July of 1997. Since that time the division has been active in community development, youth mentoring, and providing cultural programming such as Happily Natural Day-Black Freedom Weekend and the Black Capacity Literary Arts Festival. The organization is an active advocate for prison reform; addressing human rights issues as well as educational and vocational opportunities for inmates. Division #456 has been instrumental in assisting with various issues on the local, state, and national level. Each year Prosser-Truth presents individuals and organizations with the Caretaker of the Culture Award. This award was created by the division in order to acknowledge those committed to the goals and ideals of The Honorable Marcus Mosiah Garvey.
